I am based in Cheshire but will travel all over the UK. I carry examples of my work but look at the galleries above. I am looking to take relaxed wedding photographs.

You only have one chance to get your wedding photos right, so you need to make sure that you end up with the wedding album of your dreams. Ask almost any bride and they will tell you that, after all those months of planning, the wedding day itself will seem to go by in a flash.

That’s why getting the right pictures is so crucial – they will provide a lasting and tangible record of the day that you can revisit forever. With this is mind, whatever other areas of your wedding you economies on, it makes sense not to cut corners on your wedding photography.

Months later, no one will probably remember whether you served the finest French champagne or a cheap and cheerful sparkling wine at your reception – but the photos will be with you forever.

It may even help to tear pages out of wedding magazines when you see photos that grab your fancy – conveying the mood and style you like, visually, is much easier than trying to describe it verbally. After all, images are what photographers understand best!

DIFFERENT STYLES

TRADITIONAL

This involves taking very structured and posed, set pictures. If what you are looking for is large numbers of formally-arranged group shots, then this is for you. This can take a long time to do.

CONTEMPORARY

Relaxed, fun, staged (but not posed) images, capturing people as they move around, as well as the key details (cake, shoes, dress, flowers, table decorations…) from the bride’s preparations to the reception.

REPORTAGE

For those who want to have the whole day photographed as if it were a news story or an editorial feature in a Sunday supplement. You should get a large number of black and white images.

WEDDING PHOTOJOURNALISM

A fusion of contemporary and reportage styles, best carried out by two photographers working together to capture all aspects of the day.
